Coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, Head Coach Flynn Clayman and the High Point University men's basketball program are wasting no time building for the future. The Panthers have secured five transfer commitments since the portal opened on April 7, landing a class that ranks inside the AIR-A Top 25 nationally — with all five players inside AIR-A's Top 350 and three inside the Top 210.
After a 32-5 season that included back-to-back Big South regular season and tournament championships, capped by a stunning 83-82 first-round upset of No. 5 Wisconsin that delivered the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory, the Panthers are reloading with proven, experienced talent from across the country.

#143 AIR-A | Jason Rivera-Torres | 6'7" Guard | Monmouth (CAA)
The crown jewel of the class, Rivera-Torres was one of the CAA's most complete players in 2025-26, averaging 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game, the only player in the conference to start all 34 games. He ranked top 10 in the CAA in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and minutes played, earning Second Team All-CAA and CAA All-Defensive Team honors. His path to Monmouth, beginning at Vanderbilt as a freshman before a stop at San Francisco, speaks to a player who has steadily elevated his game at every level.
He shot 81.0% from the free-throw line (136-of-168), finished with eight double-doubles, and posted season highs of 30 points (at Hofstra, Jan. 10) and 13 rebounds (vs. Towson, Feb. 16). With the ability to guard multiple positions and initiate offense, Rivera-Torres is the kind of versatile wing that translates from mid-major to mid-major, and gives Clayman an immediate difference-maker. Ranked No. 143 in the AIR-A Portal Player Rankings.
#178 AIR-A | Isaac Garrett | 6'8" Forward | Oakland (Horizon)
Garrett brings the interior presence High Point has lacked in recent years. He shot 53.7% from the field at Oakland, averaging 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game across 28 starts — all while missing four games due to injury. He posted 20 double-digit scoring games and eight double-doubles, including a season-high 30-point, 16-for-16 free throw performance against Robert Morris on January 4, making him the first Oakland player to reach 30 points all season. His 80.4% free throw rate (86-of-107) and 59.1% true shooting underscore an efficiency profile that should translate immediately. Ranked No. 178 by AIR-A.
#204 AIR-A | CJ Brown | 6'2" Guard | South Florida (American)
Brown is one of the more intriguing names in this class. After earning AAC All-Freshman Team honors in 2024-25, he elevated his game significantly as a sophomore at South Florida — raising his scoring from 7.2 to 10.9 points per game and nearly doubling his assists to a team-high 4.7 across 34 starts. He posted career highs of 24 points and 10 assists in the same game against Oklahoma State on November 19, and shot 72.7% from the free-throw line.
Brown ranked among the AAC leaders in assists and went 7-for-10 from the line in the AAC Tournament. With quick-twitch athleticism and a nose for the passing lane, Brown profiles as an ideal connector in Clayman's up-tempo system — a guard who can push pace, find shooters, and guard on the perimeter. Ranked No. 204 in the AIR-A index.
#327 AIR-A | Liam Campbell | 6'4" Guard | Saint Mary's (WCC)
Campbell may be the most undervalued addition in the class. The redshirt freshman from Meridian, Idaho, shot 52.0% from three on 50 attempts and 51.0% from the field in his first collegiate season at Saint Mary's — one of the most disciplined offensive programs in the country — averaging 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 14.6 minutes across 33 games off the bench. He was named WCC Freshman of the Week after a 20-point breakout performance against Ohio in just his third collegiate game.
A 52.0% three-point mark would rank among the best in the Big South. For a program that already plays at a high offensive tempo, adding a shooter of Campbell's precision off the bench could be a significant multiplier — particularly with the attention that Rivera-Torres and Garrett figure to command in the paint. Ranked No. 327 by AIR-A.
#329 AIR-A | Frankquon Sherman | 6'7" Forward | Kennesaw State (CUSA)
Sherman arrives with championship pedigree and a motor that stood out throughout the CUSA Tournament run. Having helped Kennesaw State claim its first-ever Conference USA title and earn an NCAA Tournament bid, the junior from Lincolnton, Georgia, posted career highs across the board in 2025-26: 10.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game across 35 games while shooting 46.8% from the field.
He recorded 20 double-digit scoring games, 14 double-digit rebound performances, and seven double-doubles, with a season-high 16 rebounds against Florida International on January 15. A physical, versatile forward who can score in the post, attack the glass, and guard multiple positions, Sherman fills a frontcourt need that High Point has been looking to address, pairing naturally with Garrett as a rugged, high-motor frontcourt tandem. Ranked No. 329 in the AIR-A Portal Player Rankings.
High Point On Notice
With five transfers in the fold, High Point is building a roster capable of competing at an even higher level in 2026-27. Two freshmen are also signed from the Class of 2026: Trey Pearson, a four-star point guard from Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Alexandros Alexakis, a 6'5" combo guard from Greece. Together, they give Clayman a blend of experienced transfer talent and elite young pieces that few mid-major programs can match.
